Jake has gone to school 13 miles out in the sticks from Gloucester, and in some stagecoach insisted we buy a 12 month bus pass up front

After much discussion, he has been allowed on the school bus with a letter from the school,
but will loose out on any non school travel he may have done.

It’s amazing isn’t it. I was once interrogated at a Walsall tip as they thought I was dumping trade waste. It was me and the wife, with a trailerload of bricks from the garden- they were part of an old path- towed by a Golf. Yep. Trade waste for sure.

We get fly tipping a lot in the lanes I use to get to the motorway too. I wonder why?

My own view is that it should be very very easy to dispose of waste legally and properly (so encourage trailers, increase opening hours etc), and the fines for flytipping should be severe and rigorously applied.

I don’t have a crackberry: I hate them. The last time my colleague threatened one, I said:

“Fine, if you want it back with a 205/45 16 Conti print on it”.

I do, however, sometimes do a few bits in my own time, though less these days since being forced into a rota that doesn’t suit me.
